When life is ruff:

Do you ever get tired?

So tired that all you want to do is keep the couch warm all day?

Being a good pup really poops me out.

So I give myself a little love,

a little walk,

a little water,

a little time

to just be quiet

and sniff the world

around me.

How do you handle when life is RUFF?

It's okay to slow down a minute.

Breathe.

Rest.

Love

Let yourself heal, so you can get back up when you are ready.

You'll be back to pulling your owner on the leash in no time.

Be a Buddy (Not a Bully) - Guest Post by Budson Burner

Hi! My name is Budson Burner,

I'm going to talk about how to be a buddy, not a bully.

First, it all comes with your perception of the world.

As you can see, I am a small guy.

Though I am small, I have a big heart.

I've been bullied by the other pups before, and it is not a fun place to be in life.

So, I am always there to offer a friend a helping paw.

If you are one of the pups being bullied, here are some things you can do:

Turn away and wag your tail.

By doing this, it will show that you're not bothered by them, and you are unbreakable.

Second, Don't be afraid to use your best bark and stand up for yourself, or if you need help, tell an adult.

Now, I bet you are wondering how a good boy like me gets so many treats.

Well, let me tell you, it's all in the eyes.

Good puppy dog eyes show that you are a good pup and are deserving of a treat.

Another thing that helps, is following your owner around nonstop, especially in the kitchen.

And don't forget to use those eyes to show you are interested in whatever they are holding,

unless it doesn't smell good.

By following these tips and lending a friend a helping paw,

You too, can be a buddy, not a bully.

Where did the birthday cake go?

I don't know...

What happened to that loaf of bread?

Hmmm. I couldn't tell ya...

I haven't seen a thing.

This page turner will teach you how to project a mask of innocence, even when it's obvious you are the culprit.

In this book, you will learn the step by step approach I take to steal people food off of the table, and then clean up so well, that those humans never knew what they were missing.

I will teach you the masterful art of quietly bullying visiting dogs and passing shade that is so subtle, your owners will think you are an angel, but the visiting pups will shake with fear.

Who farted? Wasn't me!   Buy this book today! $14.95 everywhere books are sold!

In the Kitchen, With Socks

Cooking up a treat...

The wrapper crinkles, or the jar opens,  and my eyes open suddenly too.
What yummy treats will my best friend share today?
A bit of cheese? Some chicken? or whipped cream?  The kitchen is a favorite place of mine, and I love to help cook.
Here is a favorite recipe:

Peanut Butter on the Floor

Ingredients:  1 jar of peanut butter

Step 1:  Lay on the couch, while your best friend walks into the kitchen to make a sandwich.
Step 2:  Hear the sound of the peanut butter jar open. This is the part you have to move swiftly.
Step 3: Run as fast as you can into the kitchen, and scour the kitchen floor, looking for peanut butter drips that fell when your best friend made their sandwich.
Step 4. If no drips of peanut butter fell on the floor, look up at your bestie with eyes of despair and sorrow.
Step 5. Your best friend will submit to your request, and drop a splat of peanut butter for you to enjoy.
Step 6. When you have enjoyed every drip of peanut butter, you can go back to the couch, to continue doing your best work keeping it warm. Enjoy!

You can sit on the couch with me!

Hey Friends!

It's me, Socks!

Welcome to my blog about life, and what makes me happy.

It's a ruff life right now, so I am here to share some peace, smiles, and wisdom from my couch. Yes, I own the couch, but I sometimes let my friends sit with me on it.

This week I want to talk about giving yourself some love... something I am very good at.

Here are 3 things that I do to take care of myself:

1. When I am tired, I sleep. Sometimes a lot.
2. I don't judge myself when I mess up. I hope you don't either.
3. I spend time with people I love. It makes me feel loved.

As you go through your day, please take care of you too.

Much love to you friends.

Why I Chill...

Hey Friends!  Today I want to talk about the importance of slowing down.  I love to chase things. Between chasing food as it drops to the fl...
